How research is handled here.

Researchers and technical teams are right to ask what happens to their questions, their documents and the protected works they read — whether that material is an unpublished paper or proprietary R&D. This page answers in plain language. It describes principles and controls — deliberately not an implementation blueprint.

01

Protected research access

The PRQT corpus includes protected, licensed research — published works and, as it is added, current manuscript material. Each Paraqyt account receives only the research access it is authorized to use.

When Paraqyt’s research process decides a work is relevant, it asks to open it. That request is checked on our servers against the account’s current, active access before anything is read. The assistant cannot grant itself access, and a request for a work outside your access is refused without revealing more than the public site already describes.

Material you aren’t authorized to read is not retrieved into your conversation — it is never loaded and then hidden.

Access is enforced by the server for each work, not left to the assistant’s judgement.

02

Answers you can check

For questions about PRQT, Paraqyt is designed to ground its answers in research material it actually opened in your conversation, and to return citations you can inspect.

Citations to PRQT works are validated against what was opened, and identify the work — published paper, book or current manuscript — so its provenance stays visible. When public-web research is used, web citations are listed separately from PRQT citations.

Grounding reduces error; it does not eliminate it. Treat answers as a starting point for your own reading, and verify anything important against the cited source.

PRQT claims point to works that were actually opened. Web sources are kept apart.

03

Our AI provider

Paraqyt currently uses xAI models as its AI reasoning provider. PRQT Labs selected xAI in part because of its emphasis on technical and STEM-oriented reasoning.

That is a considered choice for this product, not a claim that any one provider is best at everything. If the provider changes, this page will change with it.

xAI, chosen in part for technical and STEM-oriented reasoning.

04

Provider privacy controls

The product is designed around a small number of deliberate controls on how research content reaches the AI provider:

  • Provider credentials are held on our servers. Your browser never talks to the AI provider directly.
  • Requests carrying research context are sent with provider-side storage disabled.
  • Each response must confirm zero data retention before its result is admitted. A response that doesn’t is treated as a failure, not shown.
  • Paraqyt uses a deliberately limited set of provider capabilities. Provider-hosted file storage and similar hosted research tools are not used for research content.
  • A work is sent to the provider only after our servers have independently confirmed that you are entitled to it.

Server-held keys, storage disabled, zero retention confirmed on every response.

05

The public-web boundary

Paraqyt can use public-web search when it helps — for example, to set PRQT beside a conventional treatment. It decides whether web research is useful; our servers decide whether it is permitted.

Web search is offered only while a conversation carries no protected PRQT content, no private attachment content, and nothing derived from either. Once protected or private material is in play, web search is not available. It is never used to retrieve the corpus or your attachments.

No web search once protected or private material is in the conversation.

06

Your attachments

You retain ownership of the research and technical materials you upload — papers, calculations, drafts, notes or internal research. PRQT Labs does not acquire ownership of them.

Paraqyt may store, process and transmit relevant attachment content to service providers only as necessary to provide the research functionality you ask for, under the privacy controls described above. When Paraqyt opens an attachment to reason over it, relevant content from that attachment is sent to our AI provider under those controls.

These boundaries matter as much to a private R&D team working with proprietary material as to an academic researcher with an unpublished draft: once attachment content is in a conversation, public-web search is no longer offered there, and that content reaches the AI provider only under the controls above.

Yours to keep — academic or proprietary. Processed only to answer your questions.

07

Extraction and abuse

Systematic scraping, automated extraction, reconstruction of protected works, and attempts to circumvent access restrictions are prohibited.

The platform includes technical controls intended to detect and restrict abusive patterns. Abuse can lead to restriction or permanent termination of access.

The corpus is for research, not reconstruction.

08

Account deletion and retention

Pre-beta commitment — not yet live

Self-service account deletion is a required pre-beta capability being built into Paraqyt. It is not live yet, and this page will say so plainly when it is. Once live, it will work as follows:

  • Account and research access will be disabled immediately when deletion begins.
  • Ordinary account data and research content will be removed within 24 hours, with automatic retries until cleanup completes.
  • Limited security metadata — including IP addresses associated with security-relevant events — may be retained for up to 90 days for abuse, security and fraud prevention.
  • For confirmed permanent bans, minimal keyed identifiers may be retained for as long as the ban remains in force.
  • Ordinary research content is not retained indefinitely merely for ban enforcement.

Access off at once; content gone within 24 hours; limited security data up to 90 days.

Fig. 1 — The path of a question

What leaves, what doesn’t, and who decides.

01 · YOU

A question

  • Signed in to an individual account.
  • Optionally, your own PDFs.

02 · PARAQYT SERVERS

Checks, then assembles

  • Verifies who you are and that the conversation is yours.
  • Checks your access for each work the assistant asks to open.
  • Includes only what you are entitled to.
  • Validates citations against what was opened.

03 · AI PROVIDER (xAI)

Reasons over it

  • Keys never leave our servers.
  • Storage disabled on every request.
  • Zero retention confirmed — or the result is discarded.

PROTECTED CORPUS

Opened one work at a time, only after access is confirmed. Never loaded wholesale and filtered afterwards.

PUBLIC WEB SEARCH

Off whenever protected or private material is in the conversation. Never a route to the corpus.

A simplified description of principles, not an architecture diagram.

What we don’t claim.

  • We don’t describe any system as unbreakable.
  • We don’t claim that grounding makes answers correct.
  • We don’t claim a feature is live before it is deployed and verified.
  • We don’t present PRQT as settled science.
  • We don’t claim that Paraqyt certifies or validates an idea or invention.
  • We don’t claim security certifications or enterprise controls we don’t have.
